About the technique
Gel printing is an analogue printmaking process using acrylic paint on a silicon plate. It is what's called a 'destructive' monotype technique, which means the print can only be pulled from the plate one single time. This technique produces one-off art prints that have a beautiful patina.
Being handmade, there will be slight imperfections in your print. These are part and parcel of the process and are understood to add charm and uniqueness to your print.
Ultrasound Art - Siblings
- Sibling gel prints measure 42 x 59.4cm (16.5 x 23.4 inches). This corresponds to standard paper size A2.
- The more ultrasound scans you would like on your print, the smaller each individual scan gets. Each ultrasound scan measures 8" in diameter printed when you feature two ultrasound scans on your print, and gets smaller the more scans you would like to feature.
You can choose from 3 colour options.
The options pewter and iridescent white produce black prints on a shimmering, metallic background.
The colour option smoke uses a slightly different printmaking process. It can reproduce finer details from your ultrasound scan, but results in a fainter print that looks more grey than black. It will also shimmer with a metallic finish.
