PERMISSION TO USE IMAGES
Under international copyright law, an artist retains intellectual property and copyright to their work. The artists who create portraits for Possum Portraits Inc. will be allowed to reproduce their own work for non-commercial purposes, such as in their own artist portfolio or on their personal website. Under the terms of their contract with Possum Portraits Inc., they are however not allowed to reproduce work they create in our name for commercial purposes.
Possum Portraits Inc. reserves the right to reproduce work created in our name for commercial purposes associated with the advancement of our organisation's mission. That is to say we will use a digital version of the portraits whose creation we facilitate on our website, online, on social media, on printed material and on third party websites or products for the purposes of self-promotion and outreach to the perinatal loss community.

If you are a bereaved parent and want to deny permission of this commercial use of your portrait by us, you have the right to do so. Please tick the appropriate box on your portrait application form. If you have previously given permission and want to revoke it at any point, please email us at info@possumportraits.org. We will then be able to take down the image of your child's portrait from our social media accounts and website. However, we may not have the rights or the ability to take down pictures already published on third party websites (such as pictures we may have provided to accompany a news article about our portraiture services). Please be mindful of this before you give consent. We also reserve the right to continue using any existing printed material which may feature your child's portrait, but will not re-print any new stock featuring their image once you have revoked permission.
